Bio.P: Online Library of Biomaterials
An online biomaterial library where users can access and interact with biomaterials. Anyone can see the information and the recipe of the materials, as well as upload their own.
We presented this project in an immersive room with a 270° screen.
Over the years, the environmental crisis on our planet worsened as a result of the large dimension of waste generated by humanity. These residues can take up to a thousand years to degrade, contaminating many ecosystems. From the research, it looks like many people say they care about the environment, but very few of them show it in action. This is because leading a sustainable life seems difficult and inaccessible.

Based on these problems, BIO.P was created to provide a virtual space where people interested in bio fabricated and biodegradable materials can share their creations. Therefore, generating a library full of biomaterials with their information and their recipes. You can find materials of different textures, thicknesses, colors, generated from human waste, such as mango peels. This facilitates the sustainable habit of producing biomaterials.
The first thing we did was the research and exploration of biomaterials using different ingredients, from SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast) to organic waste from fruits and vegetables. After developing various materials, we created the platform after several iterations that allowed us to design a better user experience, where people can explore bioplastics and interact with each other in the most dynamic way.
